Literacy in Mathematics... Connecting with the Words
Day 2, Session 2 - July 26, 1:30-2:30pm
What do we, as teachers, do when a student doesn’t have the tools to successfully complete a task? We teach them. If they don’t know how to use the language of mathematics to communicate, we have to teach them the language and help them learn to use it. Math communication can be more than just words. This session will focus on creating an environment where students embrace mathematics learning and connecting with the vocabulary to show our students that we as teachers value math.
